About the Event

About the Event The philosopher Hannah Arendt divided human life in two: vidaactiva and vida contemplativa. Most of our modern lives takes place in vida activa, our active life, where we work, do, strive, fix and analyze. Often at the expense of vida contemplativa, where we rest, are present and contemplate the life we are living.

Much of our modern music is always on its way to the next thing, from verse to chorus, from chorus to verse. The melody strives forward, one chord leads to the next – the music is stretched out in time and we only arrive at home by the end of the song. Contemplative Concerts are based on the idea that we are always already home. It is peaceful, relaxed and soft. The music unfolds like a flower in an atmosphere of less time and more space. You can close your eyes and lie down. It is an invitation to be present in the moment, through the tones and the sounds of the music.

The evening is hosted by psychologist, author and meditation teacher Kaspar Meitil, who will be guiding the meditation and playing the piano. No previous meditation experience is needed.
